Tony Scott : 1944-2012

This week saw the loss of a great Hollywood filmmaker, having directed classics such as Top Gun and my personal favourite – True Romance. Although it is widely considered a Tarantino film, without Scott’s direction it would not have the happy, uplifting final scene that is so true to the film’s narrative (in Tarantino’s version Clarence died and Alabama ran off with the cash, cursing his name). So here I pay tribute to Scott with that closing scene:
